Dude. So, so not cool.
Well. We've been pretty excited for the past couple of days around here, because we invited some students over to have dinner at the assistant's apartment. We all cooked something, the students brought some things to drink/eat. It was all going wonderfully, if a little noisily, until I was looking for J and found her in my room, mopping something from my floor. I was surprised, so I asked what had happened, and she explained that M and C, two of the students, had been in my room, basically fucking around with my stuff.
What ended up happening, as far as I've understood, is that M, who was quite drunk, somehow dispensed with a fourth of my previously unopened laundry detergent. Spray from said detergent ended up on my bed. I am sitting next to the spots now, which are not disappearing. I am going to have to run my sheets through the laundry, again. Meaning I have to take them to the laundromat and pay for a cycle. At least they already have some detergent on them.
He also apparently got some in his hair, and used my towel in the bathroom to wash his hair. I learned this when I saw J in the bathroom rinsing my towel out into the tub. But wait, there's more. A bunch of detergent got on my desk, soaking several piles of papers and an old medicine bottle. The stuff that landed on the floor also got onto a bunch of my electrical chords, and a power bar (extension chord? you know, the thingy you plug into one electrical outlet to get multiple outlets). I meticulously cleaned whatever I could off of my computer chord, my phone chord, and my lamp chord, but there is still detergent inside the power bar. It's translucent, so I can see where there is some stuck next to a metal part on the inside. What I am most worried about, however, is my computer. Thank god it didn't catch the full brunt of whatever happened, but I did find some detergent next to the battery, which I took out and wiped down, on my touch pad (which has that sort of alkaline feel of detergent, despite my scrubbing at it for a considerable amount of time), and on several keys. I can't tell if it got anywhere else. I am taking it to a Mac place tomorrow and having someone take a look at it. I am quite nervous. I rely quite a bit on my computer.
Apart from this, my deodorant was left open on my desk, and some of it had been scratched off the top. My glasses cleaner stuff was put on a shelf with the cap shoved on incorrectly. Some of my rapidly disappearing face lotion had been squeezed out directly onto a wooden shelf, right next to the bottle. Another bottle had a cap taken off and it was lying on it's side, and another bottle of hair stuff had been moved around. Some of the American money I had on my desk got soaked in laundry detergent, and my room smells ... fresh, but heavy, in that chemical sort of way.
I am pretty upset. The thing is, I didn't realize how bad it was until they had left. It was a little crazy, cause there were a lot of people (not that many, I guess, maybe 7? not including me, J, and C) and most of them were leaving, and so I said goodbye, and came back to assess damages. That's when I realized that there was detergent on my computer, and many other places, and that other stuff had been touched. I am so thankful J found them and said, um, what the crap are you doing, get out, cause if she hadn't, I'm pretty sure it would have been a lot worse. I sent an email to another student who was here, asking for these two students' email addresses so that I can talk to them about what happened. I would like to know, pretty much, who did it, and what they could possibly have been thinking. The sad thing is, I am totally surprised. I never would have expected such disrespectful behavior in terms of another person's belongings, from anyone in this group. So. I've lost an electrical power strip, a fourth of a bottle of concentrated detergent, and most of my day tomorrow due to visits to the laundromat and the mac store. And some lotion. And the money for the laundry. And the sleep I am losing now because I'm pissed off. So. Yeah. A discussion will happen. And this is where it will just probably be awkward, cause, we're so close in age, but there's still that teacher/student vibe that I know will come up. I really need to talk to them about what happened, but I'm hoping it won't affect how they react to me in class, and it would be really nice if they just apologize and go with it, and aren't embarrassed, cause, you know, it's not like I have an excess of friends over here.
GaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhHH!
