Stuff

I know, I can be so eloquent sometimes.

Yes. So, I have been feeling pretty happy since getting back, and I just need to keep getting stuff done, and then the happiness will be more likely to continue. In an effort to realize this goal, I am putting in a Done Is Good list... kind of. So funny not to see it on putty...

This week:

French Application: __
___ App
___ Letter of Rec.
___ Letter of Rec.
___ Send

Letters: __
___ HR
___ LM
___ CM etc.

Finish cleaning frickin' room: _______

Work-work: __
___ Annotations that were supposed to be done over break
___ Time Sheets for both jobs

That's pretty good for one week, yeah? Especially seeing as it is Wednesday.

I need to find a French Prof who will write me a good recommendation for this program that I'm applying to. It is a French Teaching Assistantship, for which I would teach English in France for 6+X<7 number of months. I could do that. I want to do it. I really want to work on my French. I used to be better, and then my speaking ability has really dropped. I can still write fairly well, I just need to be immersed in it. It would be amazing to be able to speak it every day, and to become a very skilled speaker. I'm going to talk to a Prof about the other rec. at 11, and after that I should go look around the French department. And I should also figure out what my French GPA is. I got the lowest grade I have ever gotten in a French class EVER last semester. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was still very disappointing. However, it is only one class, and I think my average will be fine. So, yes, find hopefully two great rec's and then finish the app, and send it as soon as humanly possible.

Today I am going to Swat to try Seminar in Phonology. I am excited, but also sad. My former major advisor taught that class when I took it the first time, and it was amazing, so I am going to have to treat it as something completely new this time. I really love Phonology. Really really.

I need coffee. Wait, no, I want coffee. One more hour, and then I can get it on the way to meet Prof 1. Best coffee to get on campus:
1 Shot of espresso on ice in small coffee cup
Add 1/2 packet splenda
Fill cup with soy milk, stir
$1.25, and I prefer it to Starbucks, though not to the Java House.

I love coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... I also really love driving. Especially driving stick. Really fast. And also thought-provoking movies. Like the fountain. Or Pan's Labyrinth. oooh, I forgot, I was going to look for that music again...

Later!
