Can't say I'm thrilled about the necessity, but I did teach some extremely observant Orthodox Jewish kids how to swim in Bean-town, and this looks like it would be *much* easier than the over-sized t-shirts they were wearing over their togs and boardshorts.

This is probably true. I remember swimming tests for crew in high school - treading water in large t shirts, sweatpants, and socks. We were supposed to be simulating falling out of the boat during a practice. Indeed, these do seem preferable.
